Archie Shepp: Attica Blues w/ Jerry Jemmott

Ok, this track is simply kick-ass. I have posted this before with the same description, but I just can’t get away from it! Beautful Soul-Mayhem!!!

Jerry Jemmott the Groovemaster joined by bassist Roland Wilson for double electric bass on the choruses.

Aimee Mann at the Ebell, Los Angeles

This was the first tour in YEARS where we had a few weeks to get our s**t together on the road before we played LA. For both The Forgotten Arm and Lost In Space had a few days of rehearsals and then were thrown into the fire of playing a ‘local’ show. Also we clearly had a star aligned with an Aimee fan assigned the review. In any case it’s a good ‘un!

The Bottom Line
Touring behind her terrific "Charmer" album, Mann "rocked in a mid-tempo way in the mid-Wilshire district" (as she drolly put it) with a not-just-middling Wilshire Ebell gig showcasing some of the most psychologically incisive songwriting in rock.
